Why The New Year Is The Best Time To Buy Brand New Appliances

Friday January 15, 2010

A lot of people do it at this time of year. The sale signs and the discounts are out in force and if you need a new kitchen appliance of some kind you could save a lot of money by shopping for it now.

In fact some people take full advantage of the offers and buy more than one appliance. But you do need to be a bit careful of how you are going to pay for them. For example a 30% discount is a very good deal – but if you are going to pay for it on a credit card and then pay it off gradually, most of that discount could be swallowed up in the interest you will end up paying.

You also need to make sure you don’t buy on impulse. This is quite a common problem because it is hard to refuse a great offer when you see it. If you see an oven that is a fraction of the price it would normally be, you would probably be tempted to buy it. But if your existing oven is fine and there is nothing wrong with it you won’t be saving yourself any money.

There are good deals to be had though and if you need a new kitchen appliance it is worth shopping around online to see what you can find. Online sales have the advantage that you can shop right around the clock – and you won’t get crushed by all the other people looking for a bargain either!

Make sure you don’t leave it too long to claim an online kitchen appliance bargain though. If you do you run the risk of missing out altogether. Make sure you know when the sales end too – most of them go on throughout January and some will even go on longer than that. But it is true to say that whenever they end, the stock will be depleting all the time.

You will also find that the discounts can sometimes get bigger as time goes on. One level of discounting is applied to begin with and then another level may be applied later on if certain items aren’t selling. In the end the seller wants to get rid of the stock so if it doesn’t happen with the first round of discounts they will try again until it goes.
